Letiahau Valley

Approaching from the south and Piper's Pan, the road to Matswere leads first through Letiahau and then Deception Valley. About 12km northeast of the junction (GPS:LETIAH), which is the turning north for the western link, the track enters the picturesque Letiahau Valley. A further 4km on there's a small turning south from the road which, after about 100m, leads to a group of trees in a bushy plain where the Letiahau Campsite (GPS:CKL3) is situated. Around 6km further east, a tiny loop takes a closer look at the permanent Letiahau Waterhole.

About 20km east of the first campsite is a second called Lekhubu (code CKL2). This is off on the south side of the road at GPS:CKL2. Continuing east from this, the track backs around to take a more northerly line, as it approaches Deception Valley.
