Passarge Valley

This is a long valley with many pans and several campsites. Approaching from the east, it's easily reached from Leopard Pan by finding the junction of tracks to the north of the pan (GPS:LEFORK), and heading north from there.

Initially the landscape is quite a thick mixture of small trees and bushes; typical Kalahari sandveld. Then after about 13km you'll find an old green sign saying: 'Passarge Valley. Help keep this valley pristine by staying on the track', and gradually you descend into a valley with a more open landscape of more grassland – now heading southwest.

About 9.5km further there's a turning south to Manong Campsite at (GPS:CKA1), which is a lovely campsite set very much on its own.

Continuing in the valley for another 18km you'll then find a track to the north signposted to Kgokong Campsite at (GPS:CKA2). Here the valley is really stunning: open grassland dotted with a few small tree islands. The campsite is in the thickets just off to the side, slightly above the floor of the valley.

Further southwest, the third of Passarge's campsites is Kukama Campsite at (GPS:CKA3), which is in a small group of trees beside a fairly scrubby pan. This is about 12km northeast of the junction with the park's main east–west cut-line track at (GPS:PATURN).
