Zibalianja
(4 tents – but usually takes a maximum of 6 visitors) This (GPS: ZIBALI) is probably Botswana's smallest permanent camp, built on a small tree-island amidst the plains just a few kilometres west of the Zibadianja Lagoon. (The slightly different spelling of the camp's name and the lagoon's name is intentional.) Zibalianja has just four twin-bedded Meru-style tents standing on raised wooden platforms, shaded by canvas fly-sheets. Each has an en-suite bathroom, with a shower, washbasin and flushing toilet. These are of traditional design but very comfortable, with a system of 12V lighting from solar power. There's also a small, informal dining area, though meals are often eaten outside. The camp's focal point is a supremely photogenic little bar perched on a wooden platform under its own tree just off the edge of the tree-island. This has superb views all around. Activities here, and the team's enthusiasm for them, mirror those at Selinda, and the guiding when I last visited was both intelligent and excellent. Zibalianja is a super little camp for those who are serious about their game viewing and birdwatching.
