Where to stay

All of the camps in the Selinda Reserve are run by Linyanti Explorations (Pty) Ltd., PO Box 22, Kasane; tel: 6250505; fax: 6250352; email: info@linyanti.com; web: www.linyanti.com

Run by Brian and Jan Graham, Linyanti Explorations are one of Botswana's last remaining small, owner-run operations. They've been operating in this area since 1976, based entirely in Kasane where they founded Chobe Chilwero (selling it only relatively recently, in 1999).

In January 1995 they took on Selinda Reserve, and hence built Selinda, Zibalianja and two small fly-camps used for walking trails (Mokoba and Tshwene). Photographic visitors from these camps have exclusive use of the eastern side of the reserve.
In the far west of the concession near the buffalo fence and NG22, about 60km from Zibalianja, there is also a small hunting camp called Motswiri – though in the long term, it is planned to phase this out.

Like most of Botswana's high-quality camps, bookings must be made in advance and virtually everyone flies in. Linyanti Explorations encourages travellers to book through good overseas tour operators that specialise in Africa; they include a list of suggested operators on their website.
