Linyanti Tented

(5 tents)
Linyanti Tented Camp has long been one of the smallest, simplest camps run by Wilderness Safaris, and it's now marketed as one of their 'Vintage' camps (along with Kaparota, Jacana, Tubu and Pom Pom). These have slightly lower prices than the rest of their camps in Botswana, and promise modest comforts in place of plush luxuries.

Linyanti Tented Camp is about 10km southwest of Chobe's Linyanti Campsite and despite having five simple Meru-style tents, it will normally only accept a maximum of eight guests at a time. All these tents have en-suite hot shower, washbasin and toilet. Together with the dining and bar area, which are also under simple canvas, they all overlook the Linyanti River. Linyanti is very much an old-style safari camp, with traditional tents, far from the interior-designer chic found elsewhere.

Activities here include 4WD game drives by day and night, most of which are taken in the riverine forest beside the water. Short walks and boat trips are possible, as well as self-paddle canoeing excursions in large, Canadian-style canoes on the nearby lagoons – an activity which, despite the amount of water around, is almost unique here and not generally possible at other camps in Botswana.
