Sepupa

Sometime spelt 'Sepopa', 223km north of Sehithwa and perhaps 58km south of Shakawa, Sepupa can be reached via a turning from the main road (GPS: SEPUPA), which is about 1.7km away.
There you'll find a few shops including a bottle stall, a general dealer, a radio mast and a bakery advertising 'fresh palatable skilled-made bread'. Irresistible!

However, if you're not tempted then there's a turning off this linking road to the south, about halfway between the village and the main road. This is signposted to the Swamp Stop, and also leads to the motorboat ferry to Seronga.

The ferry to Seronga

On the right of the Swamp Stop, a few hundred metres downstream, is the very informal mooring for the ferry. This is really just a motorboat with a shade cover that's driven across the river when full. It normally leaves around 12.00–14.00pm, provided there are enough people, and takes 90 minutes to cross the river (diagonally downstream, via a variety of winding channels) to Seronga. A one-way trip costs P20 per person.
