Mohembo border and ferry

Heading north about 13km after Shakawe, you reach the area of the border with Namibia. A left fork takes you to the neat, newly built customs and immigration area for those crossing into Namibia by road.

A right fork leads swiftly to the (free) Mohembo Ferry, which usually takes a few vehicles at a time across the river, including the occasional small truck. Expect to find a lot of people waiting around here – some to cross, others to meet those who have crossed, or to buy and sell things here.
