Where to stay

There are just two campsites here, both a short distance off the main Nxai Pan. One to the south, called South Camp, and one to the north, unsurprisingly called North Camp. Both usually have standpipes for water and, if you're lucky, you'll find working flush toilets and showers here.

There's also an old, disused campsite on a short (0.8km long) loop road on the eastern side of Nxai Pan at (GPS:NXAIOL).

South Camp

South Camp (GPS: NXAISO) is the closest to the entrance and probably the busier site – but also the nicer one. It's situated in a grove of purple-pod terminalia trees (Terminalia prunioides) which cast a good shade, making it relatively cool.

North Camp

North Camp (GPS: NXAINO) stands in a less inspiring grove of stunted mopane trees, which don't offer nearly the same shade as the terminalias. However, if South Camp is busier then you may find more solitude here.
