Despite its huge area, the central Kalahari has relatively little scenic variation. The vast majority of it is covered by an enormous, undulating sandsheet. Within the CKGR itself, the north of the park contains the most varied scenery; here you'll find a network of vegetated salt pans and a few fossilised riverbeds.
