Getting around

A vehicle is useful in town, though taxis can be hailed from the street and are relatively inexpensive. If you're around the centre, between the banks and the airport, then walking is hot but feasible. Heading further out you'll need to either hitchhike or use a taxi.

Taxis

Maun's only taxis that you can pre-book and order by phone are Atol Taxis; tel: 6864770.

Minibuses

Small combies which frequent ply between the centre of town to the outlying suburbs and areas are used by most of the residents of Maun – at least those who don't have their own cars – most of the time. These routes aren't often clearly marked; you really need to ask someone and then hop on. Costs are very low though, typically just a couple of pula for a ten-minute ride.
